Today I Steal Massive Traffic & SERPs from Becky S

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Becky S at PreBlogging wrote a neat little article about using SEODigger to find out for what keyworks other bloggers are ranking well, and then using that information to steal their traffic.

So I am putting it to a test.  Can I become #3 on the Google search for Becky S?  What about Adsense Monkeys, a keyword for which she ranks #1?

If this article can gain top place for the specific search “adsense monkeys“, I will give Becky S of Becky Plugins and Adsense Monkeys fame an Affiliate Payout for Christmas.

Is this the worst blog post ever?  So far, yes, it is.

All silliness aside, this is a fine article about a very useful research tool, one I’ve never looked at before.  I probably wouldn’t use it as a blogger, because I don’t want to be just a keyword stuffer who chases after search engine traffic of questionable value.  But as an affiliate marketer, I can see the benefits of this right away.  How is it that one BANS site might rank well for, say, searches for brass musical instruments, but mine does not?  Chances are there is some keyword targeting going on… maybe their real traffic is coming from searches for flugelhorns, spit valves, and cornets rather than trumpets, tubas, and trombones.  Maybe that guy selling motorcycles (and getting a ton of eBay signups) on his website ranks well for Honda Helix scooter sidecar, even if he’s nowhere to be found on the search for motorcycles

Thanks, Becky S!

Rich thanks for the intro to a useful tool. Like you being a blogger I am not in the business of keyword stuffing, but it is right to be aware of the tools available. I still need to follow up on your BANS post and put that to work. Good luck with your positioning and no it is not a bad post :)

Thanks for the tip, but it keeps repeating that my link is not in the database. Although the site is indexed by google … It’s a petty.

I guess that the problem must be that I have no SEO related pages :-). Yes, the blog is relatively new: 2 months old, but it has 10 pages indexed in google.
    Thanks for the quick reaction.

you mentioned BANS sites in this article. and so i decided to write in and give my two cents. I have owned BANS for about two weeks now and have build almost 7 websites. All fully optimized and targeted. I have already outranked some of the same niche websites that have been around for months. Seo is alot easier than people make it out to be

this is just one example Dhol

War of search engines, keywords, and bloggers is going tougher. My blog was ranked for some of keywords which i didn’t want but I am wondering to have a big traffic for those keywords. Later on, I wrote some stuff for those keywords, shockingly I went down to the Google Page. Sometimes google is so unpredictable.

haha, this is a good idea. anyone remember when shoemoney ran a similar competition? He challenged anyone who could rank higher in google for shoemoney would win a prize, i’m sure it turned in to a nightmare and quite a few people got higher.
