My older daughter, who will be celebrating her fifth birthday in less than two weeks, is learning young.  Last night I forgot to soak some beans that I had intended to cook today.  When I lamented that fact, she sat down and drew me a picture of some beans and water.  She said it was to remind me that I needed to soak and cook the beans today.  She made sure I placed it on my desk right next to the computer so I wouldn’t forget.

I guess that time I explained Getting Things Done to her stuck.

Not even five years and she understands the importance of keeping your action lists written down, organized, and accessible.  I’m pretty sure getting her a copy of GTD for her birthday wouldn’t go over well, but I’m glad she’s learning the lessons anyway.

Now when she’s six… she’s getting a planner of some sort.  As long as it’s pink, I’m pretty sure she’ll use it.
