Anyone who saw my Please Stalk Me post recently can probably guess that I’m not really into the privacy thing.  But I can perfectly understand if someone else is.  In my 21′ish years of being online, I’ve never had anything but good experiences with people I’ve met online then had contact with offline.  I’ve never had a stalker, a harasser, or any other form of idiot look me up and bother me in real life.  But I know that not everyone has had such good fortune.

Facebook is going to opening up their membership information to search engines soon.  I’ve encouragd a lot of people to join Facebook in the last six months or so, so it’s only fair that I warn them about this change.

Personally, I’m happy this is about to happen.  I want my name and my online activities to become more widely known online, as the things I do on Facebook are aimed toward growing my online businesses.   The more people looking at my Facebook profile, the better.  In fact, I wish I could turn off all the privacy settings… I’d prefer if people could just add me to their friends list, view my profile, and see what I’m doing without my having to give them permission.

If you’d prefer not to be so open with your Facebook profile, you might want to click the image below, then disable the Search Engine setting here, as I believe it is new, and defaulted to ON:
